The I.T industry has a rich community in terms of developers. With so many teams embracing the open-source project style, and getting involved with Blogging, there is masses of amazing tutorials, code snippets and even live tutorials that demonstrate some very unique ideas and provide inspiration to developers like myself.
Due to a lack of work availability when I started my first I.T job, my first task as a developer was to study for a Microsoft .NET exam. This exam introduced me to ASP.NET web forms, JQuery and AJAX. It also built on my existing knowledge of database interactions and Javascript.
It was through this that got me onto the .NET path.
The coding language that I majorly use is ASP.NET with C#, though I also have experience with the following
- T-SQL
- Javascript
- JQuery
- HTML 5
- CSS
- Visual Basic
- Java
I also have experience with the following tools and technologies
Source Control
- Git
- Subversion
- Team Foundation Server (TFS)
Microsoft Development Tools
- Visual Studio 2010/2012
- SQL Server 2012
Cloud Services
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Windows Azure
Build Tools
- Jenkins
- Atlassian Bamboo
Monitoring Tools
- Pingdom
- New Relic
- PRTG
Other
- Atlassian suite (specifically Confluence, JIRA, and Bitbucket)
- Quartz.NET
I have also participated in several other activities that have influenced me as a developer
- Performed various recruitment interviews as part of the interview panel
- Went to WelTec and gave a formal talk on the Cadetship program
- Sat on the Fronde interview panel for a cadetship intake
The following are some projects that I have been involved with in my time at Fronde so far.
The following are some of my achivements, gained since beginning my I.T. career.
